Heidi

Heidi, the protagonist of this story, is an orphaned Swiss village girl who grew accustomed to living in her grandfather’s hut high in the Alps. She came to love the mountains, the valleys, the pastures, and the changing seasons.

Heidi is asked to become a companion to a girl who is confined to a wheelchair and lives in a mansion equipped with every comfort. Through her life, the story illustrates a vision of happiness rooted in three dimensions: simplicity, faith in God, and helping others.

Was Heidi happy in the mansion?

Why did she return to the mountains?

You will discover the answers as you read this story, in which the author explores the theme of happiness with a simple and engaging style.
