Discipleship

Mark Dever reminds readers that discipleship is a biblical mandate, driven by obedience to Christ’s command and love for others. It is not an endeavor reserved for a select few, nor does it reduce individuals to mere "projects"; rather, it seeks to build intentional relationships with them. It requires investing time in the lives of those who are interested in and eager to follow Jesus. Ultimately, only those who are truly humble should take on the task of discipling Jesus’ sheep—for "a disciple, when he is fully trained, will be like his teacher." These ideas, and others like them, are explored throughout this book. I am confident that once you read it, you will certainly recommend it to others—I know I certainly will.
