This biographical picture book tells the story of Augustine of Hippo. While Augustine was growing up, it’s unlikely that anyone thought he would become a father of the Church. Augustine rejected his mother’s plea to follow Jesus and chased after fame and fortune instead. He was smart, good at public speaking, and drew acclaim on the biggest stages in the world. The only problem was that the more popular he grew, the more restless his heart became. But when he went to a church to hear a man named Ambrose preach, Augustine began to wonder: Had he been running the wrong way all his life?
